Amamangalam Sri Maha Vishnu Temple is situated on the Kozhikode-Balussery State highway. It is about 18 k.m. north east of Calicut city and 6 k.m. south- west of Balussery town. Calicut International Airport is the nearst airport while Kozhikode is the nearest railway station. Plenty of buses ply on the Kozhikode-Balussery route and the nearst bus stop is at 11/4. The main deity is Mahavishnu in Kurmavatharam position (four arms). The

The renovation work was started by the devotees in the early 80s and poojas started after resetting the broken idol and rebuilding the sanctum-sanctorum (Sreekoil) In order to identify the problems affecting the functioning of the temple an Ashtamangala Prasnam was carried out by eminent astrolegers on 3-5 February 2016 Although some remedial measures (Parihara poojas) were taken major activities including rebuilding the sanctum-sanctorum (Sreekoil), Chuttambalam, well, pond (Kulam) and Naveekarana Kalasam are yet to be taken up and completed so that the diety regains its lost pride, power and prestige.
